Dear colleagues, friends and guests,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2016 NSW Section meeting. Venu and I have prepared a meeting that will be both educational and entertaining. We will provide a relaxed atmosphere where trainees and consultants can enjoy opportunities for professional development, while forging the sort of enduring personal connections and friendships that make our profession so rewarding.
I am delighted that our main guest speaker is Professor Marcus Drake, consultant urologist from Bristol, England. Marcus has a special interest in neurourology and incontinence. He is the Senior Lecturer at University of Bristol, a visiting Professor at the University of the West of England and Chairman of International Continence Society Standardisation Committee. Importantly he is an engaging and knowledgeable speaker and a thoroughly top bloke!
Professor Phillip G. Ransley, also from the UK, has kindly taken the time to join us during his AUF sponsored visit to Australia. He will share with us his experiences in Pakistan.
I also thank Doctor Nina Wines, Dermatologist, Doctor Tom Jarvis, Associate Professor Peter Chin and Professor Henry Woo for their support of what has shaped up to be a most exciting program.
Our venue, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley has excellent facilities and is near to world-class wineries. The hotel features a large swimming pool, kids club, babysitting, games room, gym and spa facilities.
The sports afternoon is making a comeback (hurrah!) and there will be optional golf, tennis, archery and laser clay shooting. For guests and the less sporty, there are wine tours and helicopter rides available to be booked from the hotel.
Evening entertainment includes the Welcome Reception at the fabulous Circa1876 and our final night Gala Dinner in The Barrel Room at Mount Pleasant Winery.
We look forward to sharing wisdom and wine amongst the vines.
Ruth and Venu
